Students
The Students are coming!
In September another academic year begins at our local universities Staffordshire and Keele. To mark this year we will be introducing the Stoke Student Gay Guide! With all the information on venues, support and essentials for every LGBT student. We are deep in the drafting stages but. What would you want in the guide? How should it look? Should it be all information and support? Or throw in the fun side? Let us know your thoughts or if you would like to be involved on 01782 266998 or info@gaystoke.com

Universities throughout the Midlands are now rated for their LGB credentials in a new national guide produced by Stonewall.
The 'Gay By Degree' guide to universities has been produced to help lesbian, gay and bisexual 16-17-year-olds make a choice about which university to apply for once they receive their A-Level results.
The online guide measures how gay-friendly each university is based on a range of factors, including whether there is a student LGB group, if LGB specific careers advice is offered, membership of Stonewall's Diversity Champions Programme, policies and practices that counter homophobic bullying and specific events for LGB students.
The guide includes all universities in the Midlands as well as throughout the UK.
"With the introduction of tuition fees, students are increasingly consumers and as such expect universities to cater to their needs. For the first time, students can now compare how gay-friendly every UK university is by browsing this groundbreaking new guide," said Luke Tryl, Stonewall's education officer.
The guide can be found at www.gaybydegree.org.uk. The guide is broken down by region or university name.
