About Us
Introduction to the LGBT Network
The LGBT Network is a local charity set up to support people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or trans in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.
Originally made up of volunteers, the Network has grown into a recognised organisation that represents the views of the LGBT community. In 2010 the LGBT Network became a registered charity and appointed an elected board of directors.
The Network not only works with organisations such as local councils and the police, but organises a variety of community groups including the Panthers Badminton Group, Sanctuary Stoke and of course of Stoke Pride.
We receive mainstream funding from local organisations and employ full time members of staff. This allows us to offer one-to-one casework support, signposting and training to facilitate consultation.

Rainbow Pathfinder Project
In June 2008 The LGBT Network carried out a unique piece of research to find out what services organisations provided to support gay and trans communities and what the communities expectations were. The findings were concerning, it was evident that people who were gay or trans were receiving little or no support from providers when in fact the LGBT communities were greater.
In December 2008 the findings of the report were published together with an action plan and recommendations one of which was to employ a full time Case worker and Project Officer.
As a result of the Rainbow Pathfinder Project we now receive mainstream funding from local organisations and employ two full time members of staff.
